335. Benefitting from Non-Jewish Wine

47:1 Nowadays, according to some opinions, wine belonging to or handled by non-Jews is only forbidden to drink but it is permitted for other forms of benefit. Therefore, one may accept wine from a non-Jew as payment for a debt. (Editor’s note: Clearly, he may not drink it; he may only resell it to another non-Jew.) This is only permitted because refusing to accept the wine as payment may result in a loss; he may not go out and invest in non-kosher wine in order to resell it at a profit. There are those who do permit this but the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch advises acting stringently in this matter.

47:2 One may use non-kosher wine externally as treatment for a sick person, even if he is not in any danger.
