Kiddushin 3:10-11
Kiddushin 3:10
If a man says to a woman that he betrothed her but she says that he didn’t, he may not marry her close relatives but she may marry his. If she says that he betrothed her and he says that he didn’t, he is permitted to marry her relatives and she is prohibited to his. If he says he betrothed her and she says that he betrothed her daughter, he is prohibited to the mother’s relatives and she is permitted to his; he is permitted to the daughter’s relatives and she is also permitted to his (because the mother’s statement has no legal impact on the daughter).
Kiddushin 3:11
If a man says to a woman that he betrothed her daughter but she says that he betrothed her (i.e., the mother), he is prohibited to the daughter’s relatives and she is permitted to his; he is permitted to the mother’s relatives and she is prohibited to his.
