Chagigah 3:5-6

Chagigah 3:5

From Modi'im towards Jerusalem, unlearned people are trusted regarding earthenware vessels, while they are not trusted from Modi'im outwards. If a potter selling such vessels entered inwards of Modi'im, then that potter continues to be trusted regarding the same pots and the same customers. If he went outward from Modi'im, he is not trusted.

Chagigah 3:6

If tax collectors entered a house, or if thieves returning stolen vessels entered a house, they are believed if they say they didn't touch certain utensils. In Jerusalem, they are trusted regarding kodesh and, at pilgrimage times, they are also trusted regarding terumah.
