Peah 3:2-3
Peah 3:2
Let’s say a person reaps his field in patches, leaving the unripened stalks. Rabbi Akiva says he gives peah for each patch; the Sages say he gives peah from one patch for all of them. The Sages agree with Rabbi Akiva that if one plants mustard or dill in several places throughout his field that he gives a separate peah for each.
Peah 3:3
If a person harvests moist onions to sell in the marketplace and he leaves the dry ones to pick later for storage, he gives peah for each separately. The same is true for beans and for grapes. One who plucks produce to thin out his field gives peah for what he leaves from what he has left. If he plucks from just one place, he gives from what remains for the entire field.
