Yisro - Chamishi

(ז) וַיָּבֹ֣א מֹשֶׁ֔ה וַיִּקְרָ֖א לְזִקְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיָּ֣שֶׂם לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם אֵ֚ת כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֖הוּ יְהֹוָֽה׃ (ח) וַיַּעֲנ֨וּ כׇל־הָעָ֤ם יַחְדָּו֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶׂ֑ה וַיָּ֧שֶׁב מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃ (ט) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י בָּ֣א אֵלֶ֘יךָ֮ בְּעַ֣ב הֶֽעָנָן֒ בַּעֲב֞וּר יִשְׁמַ֤ע הָעָם֙ בְּדַבְּרִ֣י עִמָּ֔ךְ וְגַם־בְּךָ֖ יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ לְעוֹלָ֑ם וַיַּגֵּ֥ד מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃ (י) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ לֵ֣ךְ אֶל־הָעָ֔ם וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ם הַיּ֖וֹם וּמָחָ֑ר וְכִבְּס֖וּ שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃ (יא) וְהָי֥וּ נְכֹנִ֖ים לַיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י כִּ֣י ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֗י יֵרֵ֧ד יְהֹוָ֛ה לְעֵינֵ֥י כׇל־הָעָ֖ם עַל־הַ֥ר סִינָֽי׃ (יב) וְהִגְבַּלְתָּ֤ אֶת־הָעָם֙ סָבִ֣יב לֵאמֹ֔ר הִשָּׁמְר֥וּ לָכֶ֛ם עֲל֥וֹת בָּהָ֖ר וּנְגֹ֣עַ בְּקָצֵ֑הוּ כׇּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בָּהָ֖ר מ֥וֹת יוּמָֽת׃ (יג) לֹא־תִגַּ֨ע בּ֜וֹ יָ֗ד כִּֽי־סָק֤וֹל יִסָּקֵל֙ אוֹ־יָרֹ֣ה יִיָּרֶ֔ה אִם־בְּהֵמָ֥ה אִם־אִ֖ישׁ לֹ֣א יִחְיֶ֑ה בִּמְשֹׁךְ֙ הַיֹּבֵ֔ל הֵ֖מָּה יַעֲל֥וּ בָהָֽר׃ (יד) וַיֵּ֧רֶד מֹשֶׁ֛ה מִן־הָהָ֖ר אֶל־הָעָ֑ם וַיְקַדֵּשׁ֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וַֽיְכַבְּס֖וּ שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃ (טו) וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־הָעָ֔ם הֱי֥וּ נְכֹנִ֖ים לִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים אַֽל־תִּגְּשׁ֖וּ אֶל־אִשָּֽׁה׃ (טז) וַיְהִי֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֜י בִּֽהְיֹ֣ת הַבֹּ֗קֶר וַיְהִי֩ קֹלֹ֨ת וּבְרָקִ֜ים וְעָנָ֤ן כָּבֵד֙ עַל־הָהָ֔ר וְקֹ֥ל שֹׁפָ֖ר חָזָ֣ק מְאֹ֑ד וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד כׇּל־הָעָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ (יז) וַיּוֹצֵ֨א מֹשֶׁ֧ה אֶת־הָעָ֛ם לִקְרַ֥את הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים מִן־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה וַיִּֽתְיַצְּב֖וּ בְּתַחְתִּ֥ית הָהָֽר׃ (יח) וְהַ֤ר סִינַי֙ עָשַׁ֣ן כֻּלּ֔וֹ מִ֠פְּנֵ֠י אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָרַ֥ד עָלָ֛יו יְהֹוָ֖ה בָּאֵ֑שׁ וַיַּ֤עַל עֲשָׁנוֹ֙ כְּעֶ֣שֶׁן הַכִּבְשָׁ֔ן וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד כׇּל־הָהָ֖ר מְאֹֽד׃ (יט) וַיְהִי֙ ק֣וֹל הַשֹּׁפָ֔ר הוֹלֵ֖ךְ וְחָזֵ֣ק מְאֹ֑ד מֹשֶׁ֣ה יְדַבֵּ֔ר וְהָאֱלֹהִ֖ים יַעֲנֶ֥נּוּ בְקֽוֹל׃

(ז) וַאֲתָא משֶׁה וּקְרָא לְסָבֵי עַמָא וְסַדַר קֳדָמֵיהוֹן יָת כָּל פִּתְגָמַיָא הָאִלֵין דְּפַקְדֵיהּ יְיָ: (ח) וַאֲתִיבוּ כָל עַמָא כַּחֲדָא וַאֲמָרוּ כֹּל דִי מַלִיל יְיָ נַעְבֵּד וַאֲתֵיב משֶׁה יָת פִּתְגָמֵי עַמָא קֳדָם יְיָ: (ט) וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה הָא אֲנָא מִתְגְלִי לָךְ בְּעֵיבָא דַעֲנָנָא בְּדִיל דְיִשְׁמַע עַמָא בְּמַלָלוּתִי עִמָךְ וְאַף בָּךְ יְהֵימְנוּן לְעָלָם וְחַוִי משֶׁה יָת פִּתְגָמֵי עַמָא קֳדָם יְיָ: (י) וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה אִזֵיל לְוָת עַמָא וּתְזַמְנִנוּן יוֹמָא דֵין וּמְחָר וִיחַוְרוּן לְבוּשֵׁיהוֹן: (יא) וִיהוֹן זְמִינִין לְיוֹמָא תְלִיתָאָה אֲרֵי בְּיוֹמָא תְלִיתָאָה יִתְגְלִי יְיָ לְעֵינֵי כָל עַמָא עַל טוּרָא דְסִינָי: (יב) וּתְתַחֵם יָת עַמָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר לְמֵימַר אִסְתַּמָרוּ לְכוֹן מִלְמִסַק בְּטוּרָא וּלְמִקְרַב בְּסוֹפֵהּ כָּל דְיִקְרַב בְּטוּרָא אִתְקְטָלָא יִתְקְטֵל: (יג) לָא תִקְרַב בֵּהּ יְדָא אֲרֵי אִתְרְגָמָא יִתְרְגֵם אוֹ אִשְׁתְּדָאָה יִשְׁתְּדִי אִם בְּעִירָא אִם אֱנָשָׁא לָא יִתְקַיָם בְּמֵיגַד שׁוֹפָרָא אִנוּן מְרָשָׁן לְמִסַק בְּטוּרָא: (יד) וּנְחַת משֶׁה מִן טוּרָא לְוָת עַמָא וְזַמִין יָת עַמָא וְחַוָרוּ לְבוּשֵׁיהוֹן: (טו) וַאֲמַר לְעַמָא הֱווֹ זְמִינִין לִתְלָתָא יוֹמִין לָא תִקְרְבוּן לְצַד אִתְּתָא: (טז) וַהֲוָה בְיוֹמָא תְלִיתָאָה בְּמֶהֱוֵי צַפְרָא וַהֲוָה קָלִין וּבַרְקִין וַעֲנָנָא תַקִיף עַל טוּרָא וְקַל שׁוֹפָרָא תַּקִיף לַחֲדָא וְזָע כָּל עַמָא דִי בְמַשְׁרִיתָא: (יז) וְאַפֵּיק משֶׁה יָת עַמָא לְקַדָמוּת מֵימְרָא דַיְיָ מִן מַשְׁרִיתָא וְאִתְעַתָּדוּ בְּשִׁפּוֹלֵי טוּרָא: (יח) וְטוּרָא דְסִינַי תָּנַן כֻּלֵהּ מִן קֳדָם דְאִתְגְלִי עֲלוֹהִי יְיָ בְּאֶשָׁתָא וּסְלִיק תְּנָנֵהּ כִּתְנָנָא דְאַתּוּנָא וְזָע כָּל טוּרָא לַחֲדָא: (יט) וַהֲוָה קַל שׁוֹפָרָא אָזֵל וְתָקֵף לַחֲדָא משֶׁה מְמַלֵל וּמִן קֳדָם יְיָ מִתְעֲנֵי לֵהּ בְקָל::

7. Moshe came and called to the elders of the people; he arranged before them all these things that Hashem commanded him. 8. All the people answered as one. They said, “All that Hashem has spoken we will do!” Moshe returned the people’s words before Hashem. 9. Hashem said to Moshe, “Behold, I will be revealed to you in the thickness of the cloud, in order that the people may hear when I speak with you and also trust you forever.” Moshe told the people’s words before Hashem. 10. Hashem said to Moshe, “Go to the people and prepare[1] them today and tomorrow; they shall launder[2] their clothes. 11. They shall be prepared for the third day because on the third day Hashem will be revealed, in the eyes of all the people, on Mount Sinai. 12. You shall make a border for the people all around, saying, ‘Guard yourselves from ascending the mountain or touching the edge of it. Whoever touches the mountain will be executed. 13. No hand shall touch it, he shall surely be stoned or cast down; whether beast or man, he shall not live.’ When the shofar sounds a long blast, they are permitted to ascend the mountain.” 14. Moshe descended from the mountain to the people. He prepared the people and they laundered their clothes. 15. He said to the people, “Be prepared for three days; do not draw near a woman’s side.” 16. It happened on the third day, as morning dawned, there was thunder,[3] and lightning, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of the shofar – very strong. All the people who were in the camp trembled. 17. Moshe took the people out from the camp towards Hashem’s word, and they stood at the base of the mountain. 18. Mount Sinai smoked all over because Hashem was revealed on it in fire. Its smoke rose like the smoke of a furnace and the entire mountain trembled much. 19. It happened that the sound of the shofar went on and grew much stronger. Moshe spoke and from before Hashem he was answered in a voice.
