Chapter 4
(א) וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (ב) דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ לֵאמֹר֒ נֶ֗פֶשׁ כִּֽי־תֶחֱטָ֤א בִשְׁגָגָה֙ מִכֹּל֙ מִצְוֺ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר לֹ֣א תֵעָשֶׂ֑ינָה וְעָשָׂ֕ה מֵאַחַ֖ת מֵהֵֽנָּה׃ (ג) אִ֣ם הַכֹּהֵ֧ן הַמָּשִׁ֛יחַ יֶחֱטָ֖א לְאַשְׁמַ֣ת הָעָ֑ם וְהִקְרִ֡יב עַ֣ל חַטָּאתוֹ֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר חָטָ֜א פַּ֣ר בֶּן־בָּקָ֥ר תָּמִ֛ים לַיהֹוָ֖ה לְחַטָּֽאת׃ (ד) וְהֵבִ֣יא אֶת־הַפָּ֗ר אֶל־פֶּ֛תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵ֖ד לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְסָמַ֤ךְ אֶת־יָדוֹ֙ עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ הַפָּ֔ר וְשָׁחַ֥ט אֶת־הַפָּ֖ר לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ (ה) וְלָקַ֛ח הַכֹּהֵ֥ן הַמָּשִׁ֖יחַ מִדַּ֣ם הַפָּ֑ר וְהֵבִ֥יא אֹת֖וֹ אֶל־אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ (ו) וְטָבַ֧ל הַכֹּהֵ֛ן אֶת־אֶצְבָּע֖וֹ בַּדָּ֑ם וְהִזָּ֨ה מִן־הַדָּ֜ם שֶׁ֤בַע פְּעָמִים֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה אֶת־פְּנֵ֖י פָּרֹ֥כֶת הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ (ז) וְנָתַן֩ הַכֹּהֵ֨ן מִן־הַדָּ֜ם עַל־קַ֠רְנ֠וֹת מִזְבַּ֨ח קְטֹ֤רֶת הַסַּמִּים֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְאֵ֣ת ׀ כׇּל־דַּ֣ם הַפָּ֗ר יִשְׁפֹּךְ֙ אֶל־יְסוֹד֙ מִזְבַּ֣ח הָעֹלָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ (ח) וְאֶת־כׇּל־חֵ֛לֶב פַּ֥ר הַֽחַטָּ֖את יָרִ֣ים מִמֶּ֑נּוּ אֶת־הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ הַֽמְכַסֶּ֣ה עַל־הַקֶּ֔רֶב וְאֵת֙ כׇּל־הַחֵ֔לֶב אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־הַקֶּֽרֶב׃ (ט) וְאֵת֙ שְׁתֵּ֣י הַכְּלָיֹ֔ת וְאֶת־הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲלֵיהֶ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־הַכְּסָלִ֑ים וְאֶת־הַיֹּתֶ֙רֶת֙ עַל־הַכָּבֵ֔ד עַל־הַכְּלָי֖וֹת יְסִירֶֽנָּה׃ (י) כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יוּרַ֔ם מִשּׁ֖וֹר זֶ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים וְהִקְטִירָם֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן עַ֖ל מִזְבַּ֥ח הָעֹלָֽה׃ (יא) וְאֶת־ע֤וֹר הַפָּר֙ וְאֶת־כׇּל־בְּשָׂר֔וֹ עַל־רֹאשׁ֖וֹ וְעַל־כְּרָעָ֑יו וְקִרְבּ֖וֹ וּפִרְשֽׁוֹ׃ (יב) וְהוֹצִ֣יא אֶת־כׇּל־הַ֠פָּ֠ר אֶל־מִח֨וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֜ה אֶל־מָק֤וֹם טָהוֹר֙ אֶל־שֶׁ֣פֶךְ הַדֶּ֔שֶׁן וְשָׂרַ֥ף אֹת֛וֹ עַל־עֵצִ֖ים בָּאֵ֑שׁ עַל־שֶׁ֥פֶךְ הַדֶּ֖שֶׁן יִשָּׂרֵֽף׃ {פ}
(א) וּמַלִּיל יְיָ עִם משֶׁה לְמֵימָר: (ב) מַלֵּל עִם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְמֵימָר אֱנַשׁ אֲרֵי יֵחוֹב בְּשָׁלוּ מִכָּל פִּקּוּדַיָּא דַיְיָ דִּי לָא כַשְׁרִין לְאִתְעֲבָדָא וְיַעְבֵּד מִן חַד מִנְּהוֹן: (ג) אִם כַּהֲנָא רַבָּא יֵחוֹב לְחוֹבַת עַמָּא וִיקָרֵב עַל חוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי חָב תּוֹר בַּר תּוֹרֵי שְׁלִים קֳדָם יְיָ לְחַטָּאתָא: (ד) וְיַיְתִי יָת תּוֹרָא לִתְרַע מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא לָקֳדָם יְיָ וְיִסְמוֹךְ יָת יְדֵיהּ עַל רֵישׁ תּוֹרָא וְיִכּוֹס יָת תּוֹרָא קָדֳם יְיָ: (ה) וְיִסַּב כַּהֲנָא רַבָּא מִדְּמָא דְתוֹרָא וְיָעֵל יָתֵיהּ לְמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא: (ו) וְיִטְבּוֹל כַּהֲנָא יָת אֶצְבְּעֵיהּ בִּדְמָא וְיַדִּי מִן דְּמָא שְׁבַע זִמְנִין קֳדָם יְיָ קֳדָם פָּרוּכְתָּא דְקוּדְשָׁא: (ז) וְיִתֵּן כַּהֲנָא מִן דְּמָא עַל קַרְנַת מַדְבַּח דִקְטוֹרֶת בּוּסְמַיָא קֳדָם יְיָ דִּי בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא וְיָת כָּל דְּמָא דְתוֹרָא יֵשׁוּד לִיסוֹדָא דְּמַדְבְּחָא דַעֲלָתָא דִּי בִתְרַע מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא: (ח) וְיָת כָּל תְּרַב תּוֹרָא דְחַטָּאתָא יַפְרֵשׁ מִנֵּיהּ יָת תַּרְבָּא דְּחָפֵי עַל גַּוָּא וְיָת כָּל תַּרְבָּא דִּי עַל גַּוָּא: (ט) וְיָת תַּרְתֵּין כָּלְיָן וְיָת תַּרְבָּא דִּי עֲלֵיהוֹן דִּי עַל גִּסְסַיָּא וְיָת חִצְרָא דְּעַל כַּבְדָא עַל כָּלְיֵתָא יֶעְדִּנַּהּ: (י) כְּמָא דִי מִתַּפְרַשׁ מִתּוֹר נִכְסַת קוּדְשַׁיָּא וְיַסֵּקִנּוּן כַּהֲנָא עַל מַדְבְּחָא דַעֲלָתָא: (יא) וְיָת מְשַׁךְ תּוֹרָא וְיָת כָּל בִּסְרֵיהּ עַל רֵישֵׁיהּ וְעַל כְּרָעוֹהִי וְגַוֵּיהּ וְאוּכְלֵיהּ: (יב) וְיַפֵּק יָת כָּל תּוֹרָא מִבָּרָא לְמַשְׁרִיתָא לַאֲתַר דְּכֵי לַאֲתַר בֵּית מֵישַׁד קִטְמָא וְיוֹקִיד יָתֵיהּ עַל אָעַיָּא בְּאֶשָּׁתָא עַל אֲתַר בֵּית מֵישַׁד קִטְמָא יִתּוֹקָד:
1. Hashem spoke with[1] Moshe, saying: 2. Speak with the children of Israel, saying: A person who sins inadvertently from all of Hashem’s commandments that are not appropriate to do,[2] and he does one of them, 3. if the high priest[3] sinned to the guilt of the people, he shall offer for his sin that he sinned an unblemished young bull before Hashem as a sin offering. 4. He shall bring the bull to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting to before Hashem and he shall lay his hand on the bull’s head, and he shall slaughter the bull before Hashem. 5. And the high priest shall take of the bull’s blood and bring it to the Tent of Meeting. 6. The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle from the blood seven times before Hashem, in front of the curtain of the sanctuary. 7. The priest shall put from the blood on the horns of the spice incense altar before Hashem, which is in the Tent of Meeting. And all the bull’s blood he shall pour on the base of the burnt offering altar, which is at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. 8. And all the fat of the sin-offering bull he shall remove from it – the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, 9. and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, that is on the flanks, and the lobe that is on the liver he shall remove with the kidneys, 10. as it is removed from the ox of the holiness sacrifice, so it shall be removed from the sheep and the goat. The priest shall smoke them on the burnt offering altar. 11. And the hide of the bull and all its flesh, on its head and on its legs, and its entrails and its excrement, 12. he shall take out the entire bull to outside the camp, to a pure place, to where the ashes are poured, and burn it on wood in fire. On the place where the ashes are poured it shall be burned.
(יג) וְאִ֨ם כׇּל־עֲדַ֤ת יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ יִשְׁגּ֔וּ וְנֶעְלַ֣ם דָּבָ֔ר מֵעֵינֵ֖י הַקָּהָ֑ל וְ֠עָשׂ֠וּ אַחַ֨ת מִכׇּל־מִצְוֺ֧ת יְהֹוָ֛ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־תֵעָשֶׂ֖ינָה וְאָשֵֽׁמוּ׃ (יד) וְנֽוֹדְעָה֙ הַֽחַטָּ֔את אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָטְא֖וּ עָלֶ֑יהָ וְהִקְרִ֨יבוּ הַקָּהָ֜ל פַּ֤ר בֶּן־בָּקָר֙ לְחַטָּ֔את וְהֵבִ֣יאוּ אֹת֔וֹ לִפְנֵ֖י אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ (טו) וְ֠סָמְכ֠וּ זִקְנֵ֨י הָעֵדָ֧ה אֶת־יְדֵיהֶ֛ם עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ הַפָּ֖ר לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְשָׁחַ֥ט אֶת־הַפָּ֖ר לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ (טז) וְהֵבִ֛יא הַכֹּהֵ֥ן הַמָּשִׁ֖יחַ מִדַּ֣ם הַפָּ֑ר אֶל־אֹ֖הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ (יז) וְטָבַ֧ל הַכֹּהֵ֛ן אֶצְבָּע֖וֹ מִן־הַדָּ֑ם וְהִזָּ֞ה שֶׁ֤בַע פְּעָמִים֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה אֵ֖ת פְּנֵ֥י הַפָּרֹֽכֶת׃ (יח) וּמִן־הַדָּ֞ם יִתֵּ֣ן ׀ עַל־קַרְנֹ֣ת הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ אֲשֶׁר֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְאֵ֣ת כׇּל־הַדָּ֗ם יִשְׁפֹּךְ֙ אֶל־יְסוֹד֙ מִזְבַּ֣ח הָעֹלָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃ (יט) וְאֵ֥ת כׇּל־חֶלְבּ֖וֹ יָרִ֣ים מִמֶּ֑נּוּ וְהִקְטִ֖יר הַמִּזְבֵּֽחָה׃ (כ) וְעָשָׂ֣ה לַפָּ֔ר כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשָׂה֙ לְפַ֣ר הַֽחַטָּ֔את כֵּ֖ן יַעֲשֶׂה־לּ֑וֹ וְכִפֶּ֧ר עֲלֵהֶ֛ם הַכֹּהֵ֖ן וְנִסְלַ֥ח לָהֶֽם׃ (כא) וְהוֹצִ֣יא אֶת־הַפָּ֗ר אֶל־מִחוּץ֙ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה וְשָׂרַ֣ף אֹת֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׂרַ֔ף אֵ֖ת הַפָּ֣ר הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן חַטַּ֥את הַקָּהָ֖ל הֽוּא׃ {פ}
(יג) וְאִם כָּל כְּנִשְׁתָּא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל יִשְׁתְּלוּן וִיהֵי מְכַסָּא פִתְגָּמָא מֵעֵינֵי קְהָלָא וְיַעְבְּדוּן חָד מִכָּל פִּקּוּדַיָּא דַיְיָ דִּי לָא כָשְׁרִין לְאִתְעֲבָדָא וִיחוֹבוּן: (יד) וְתִתְיְדַע חוֹבְתָא דִּי חָבוּ עֲלַהּ וִיקַרְבוּן קְהָלָא תּוֹר בַּר תּוֹרֵי לְחַטָּאתָא וְיַיְתוּן יָתֵיהּ לָקֳדָם מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא: (טו) וְיִסְמְכוּן סָבֵי כְנִשְׁתָּא יָת יְדֵיהוֹן עַל רֵישׁ תּוֹרָא קֳדָם יְיָ וְיִכּוֹס יָת תּוֹרָא קֳדָם יְיָ: (טז) וְיָעֵל כַּהֲנָא רַבָּא מִן דְּמָא דְתוֹרָא לְמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא: (יז) וְיִטְבּוֹל כַּהֲנָא אִצְבְּעֵיהּ מִן דְּמָא וְיַדִּי שְׁבַע זִמְנִין קֳדָם יְיָ קֳדָם פָּרֻכְתָּא: (יח) וּמִן דְּמָא יִתֵּן עַל קַרְנַת מַדְבְּחָא דִּי קֳדָם יְיָ דִּי בְּמַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא וְיָת כָּל דְּמָא יֵשׁוֹד לִיסוֹדָא דְּמַדְבְּחָא דַעֲלָתָא דִּי בִתְרַע מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא: (יט) וְיָת כָּל תַּרְבֵּיהּ יַפְרֵשׁ מִנֵּיהּ וְיַסֵּק לְמַדְבְּחָא: (כ) וְיַעְבֵּד לְתוֹרָא כְּמָא דִי עֲבַד לְתוֹרָא דְחַטָּאתָא כֵּן יַעְבֵּד לֵיהּ וִיכַפֵּר עֲלֵיהוֹן כַּהֲנָא וְיִשְׁתְּבֵק לְהוֹן: (כא) וְיַפֵּק יָת תּוֹרָא לְמִבָּרָא לְמַשְׁרִיתָא וְאוֹקִיד יָתֵיהּ כְּמָא דִי אוֹקִיד יָת תּוֹרָא קַדְמָאָה חַטַּאת קְהָלָא הוּא:
13. If it is the entire congregation of Israel errs and a matter is hidden from the eyes of the community, and they do from all of Hashem’s commandments that are not appropriate to do, and they incur guilt, 14. and the sin that they sinned becomes known, the community shall offer a young bull as a sin offering, and bring it to before the Tent of Meeting. 15. The elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before Hashem, and he shall slaughter the bull before Hashem. 16. The high priest shall bring from the bull’s blood to the Tent of Meeting. 17. The priest shall dip his finger in[4] the blood and sprinkle seven times before Hashem in front of the drape. 18. And from the blood he shall put on the horns of the altar that is before Hashem, which is in the Tent of Meeting, and all the blood he shall pour on the base of the burnt offering altar, which is at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. 19. He shall remove all its fat from it and smoke it on the altar. 20. He shall do to the bull as was done with the bull of the sin offering; so shall he do with it. The priest will atone for them and they will be exempted.[5] 21. He shall bring the bull out to outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull; it is the sin offering of the community.
(כב) אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָשִׂ֖יא יֶֽחֱטָ֑א וְעָשָׂ֡ה אַחַ֣ת מִכׇּל־מִצְוֺת֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה אֱלֹהָ֜יו אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹא־תֵעָשֶׂ֛ינָה בִּשְׁגָגָ֖ה וְאָשֵֽׁם׃ (כג) אֽוֹ־הוֹדַ֤ע אֵלָיו֙ חַטָּאת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָטָ֖א בָּ֑הּ וְהֵבִ֧יא אֶת־קׇרְבָּנ֛וֹ שְׂעִ֥יר עִזִּ֖ים זָכָ֥ר תָּמִֽים׃ (כד) וְסָמַ֤ךְ יָדוֹ֙ עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ הַשָּׂעִ֔יר וְשָׁחַ֣ט אֹת֗וֹ בִּמְק֛וֹם אֲשֶׁר־יִשְׁחַ֥ט אֶת־הָעֹלָ֖ה לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה חַטָּ֖את הֽוּא׃ (כה) וְלָקַ֨ח הַכֹּהֵ֜ן מִדַּ֤ם הַֽחַטָּאת֙ בְּאֶצְבָּע֔וֹ וְנָתַ֕ן עַל־קַרְנֹ֖ת מִזְבַּ֣ח הָעֹלָ֑ה וְאֶת־דָּמ֣וֹ יִשְׁפֹּ֔ךְ אֶל־יְס֖וֹד מִזְבַּ֥ח הָעֹלָֽה׃ (כו) וְאֶת־כׇּל־חֶלְבּוֹ֙ יַקְטִ֣יר הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה כְּחֵ֖לֶב זֶ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים וְכִפֶּ֨ר עָלָ֧יו הַכֹּהֵ֛ן מֵחַטָּאת֖וֹ וְנִסְלַ֥ח לֽוֹ׃ {פ}
(כב) אִם רַבָּא יֵחוֹב וְיַעְבֵּד חַד מִכָּל פִּקּוּדַיָּא דַיְיָ אֱלָהֵיהּ דִּי לָא כַשְׁרִין לְאִתְעֲבָדָא בְּשָׁלוּ וְיֵחוֹב: (כג) אוֹ אִתְיְדַע לֵיהּ חוֹבְתֵיהּ דִּי חַב בַּהּ וְיַיְתִי יָת קֻרְבָּנֵיהּ צְפִיר בַּר עִזִּין דְּכַר שְׁלִים: (כד) וְיִסְמוֹךְ יְדֵיהּ עַל רֵישָׁא דִצְפִירָא וְיִכּוֹס יָתֵיהּ בַּאֲתַר דְּיִכּוֹס יָת עֲלָתָא לָקֳדָם יְיָ חַטָּאתָא הוּא: (כה) וְיִסַּב כַּהֲנָא מִדְּמָא דְחַטָּאתָא בְּאֶצְבְּעֵיהּ וְיִתֵּן עַל קַרְנַת מַדְבְּחָא דַעֲלָתָא וְיָת דְּמֵיהּ יֵשׁוֹד לִיסוֹדָא דְמַדְבְּחָא דַעֲלָתָא: (כו) וְיָת כָּל תַּרְבֵּיהּ יַסֵּק לְמַדְבְּחָא כִּתְרַב נִכְסַת קוּדְשַׁיָּא וִיכַפֵּר עֲלוֹהִי כַּהֲנָא מֵחוֹבְתֵיהּ וְיִשְׁתְּבֵק לֵיהּ:
22. If[6] a prince sins and unwittingly does of all the commandments of Hashem his God that are not appropriate to do and incurs guilt, 23. or his sin through which he sinned becomes known to him, he shall bring his offering – an unblemished male goat. 24. He shall lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before Hashem; it is a sin offering. 25. The priest shall take of the sin offering’s blood with his finger and place it on the horns of the burnt offering altar, and its blood he shall pour out on the base of the burnt offering altar. 26. All its fat he shall smoke on the altar like the fat of the holiness sacrifice. The priest shall atone for him from his sin and he will be exempted.
