3,365. Meduma Involving Barrels of Wine

Terumos 15:1

A sealed barrel of terumah wine renders other wine meduma in any ratio. For example, if a sealed barrel of terumah wine gets mixed up among thousands of sealed barrels of secular wine, they are all meduma. When dealing with opened barrels, terumah is nullified in a mixture 101 times its original volume.

Terumos 15:2

If a sealed barrel of terumah wine gets mixed up among 100 other barrels and then one barrel falls into the sea, they are all permitted because we assume that it was the terumah that fell in. This is different from when one terumah fig falls among 100 secular figs. In that case, one must put one fig aside. The reason this is different is because a barrel that falls into the sea is going to be noticed. Something like a fig is not going to be noticed.
