3,417. Adding Untithed Wine or Oil to Cooking

Hilchos Maaser 5:16

If someone adds wine to hot cooked food, or if he adds oil to a pot or a dish while they’re boiling, he effects the obligation to take tithes; the same is true if he mixes wine with hot water. It should go without saying that if one cooks wine, even in the vat, it may not be drunk until it’s been tithed.

Hilchos Maaser 5:17

If garlic, crucifers or mustard were crushed and mixed with oil in the field, the obligation to tithe takes effect; the same is true if one squeezes a cluster of grapes into a cup. If one squeezes grapes into a pot, however, the obligation to tithe does not take effect.
