3,442. Tithes From Unknown Barrels

Hilchos Maaser 8:8

If someone designated as tithes one barrel from half of an outer row but he doesn’t know from which half, he takes four barrels from the four corners and proceeds as in the previous halacha. If he designated a barrel from a row, but doesn’t know from which row, he takes one from a diagonal row. If he designated a barrel from half a row and doesn’t know which, he takes from two diagonal rows. In this way, he is taking a barrel from each half row. He then mixes the contents of the barrels and takes the tithes from the result.

Hilchos Maaser 8:9

If he designated a barrel as tithes but he doesn’t know which one, he takes wine from each of the 100 barrels, mixes it and takes a barrel’s volume as tithes.
