3,597. Produce From One's Own Property
Hilchos Bikkurim 2:9
If produce is grown in a flowerpot – even if it’s perforated – or on a ship, one doesn’t bring any first fruits from it. This is because Numbers 18:13 (cited in yesterday’s halachos) says “their land.” However, first fruits are brought from produce grown on a roof or in a ruin.
Hilchos Bikkurim 2:10
We don’t bring first fruits from produce grown in one domain for produce grown in a different domain. Examples include planting a tree in one’s own field and extending it into a neighbor’s field or into the public domain, or if the trunk of a tree is in one’s field and he extends it in his field but a public or private route separates between the trunk from the end of the extension. This is because Exodus 23:19 says “the first fruits of your land,” meaning that it must all be from one’s own land.
