3,659. Defining the Gifts

Hilchos Bikkurim 9:17

If someone wants to give all the gifts to one particular kohein, he may. If he wants to divide them among several kohanim, he may not split the abomasum or the foreleg. Rather, he should give the foreleg to one kohein, the abomasum to another kohein, and the jaw to two more kohanim. This is derived from Deuteronomy 18:4, which says “You shall give it to him,” meaning a portion that is significant. If he’s giving gifts from an ox (which is very large), then he may divide the gifts so long as each portion remains significant.

Hilchos Bikkurim 9:18

The foreleg is the right foreleg from the upper joint to the ankle: two connected limbs. The jaw means from the jawbone until the bulge of the throat, which is the large ring, with the tongue. All this is given to a kohein.
