3,995. Exiting Quickly
Hilchos Bias HaMikdash 3:21
The penalty of kareis (spiritual excision) applies to both a ritually unclean person who entered the Temple when it was ritually clean and a ritually clean person who entered the Temple when there was ritually uncleanliness inside. An example of this would be if there was a corpse in a tent in the Temple and he went into that tent. In such a case, one’s entrance and his ritual impurity occur simultaneously. If someone were to enter the Temple and be rendered ritually unclean after entering – even if he intentionally rendered himself unclean – he must exit quickly, taking the shortest possible route.
Hilchos Bias HaMikdash 3:22
It is prohibited for him to delay, to prostrate himself or to take a longer route. If he delayed, or if he took a longer route even without delaying, or if he turned his face towards the Heichal and prostrated even without delaying, he is subject to the penalty of kareis. If he did so unintentionally, he must bring an offering.
