358. Hatov Vehameitiv is Not Recited at Bentching

49:15 One diner can exempt the others with his bracha. First he say “savrei” (“Listen up!”) so they should know to pay attention and respond with “Amen” in order to be included in his blessing. This is only when each diner has his own cup in front of him and can drink immediately, without any interruption between the bracha and drinking.

49:16 If one bentches on a different type of wine than that used in the meal, he does not recite hatov vehameitiv since there is a bracha of hatov vehameitiv in bentching that covers it.
