Good Ga'avah, Bad Ga'avah

"'כה אמר ה' אל יתהלל חכם בחכמתו ואל יתהלל הגיבור בגבורתו אל יתהלל עשיר בעשרו. כי אם בזאת יתהלל המתהלל השכל וידע אותי כי אני ה' עשה חסד משפט וצדקה בארץ כי באלה חפצתי נאום ה"

Yirmiyahu warns: don't take pride in wisdom in wisdom, strength, or wealth. You can only take pride in knowing God.

Unlike the other Rishonim, the Semag holds that being humble/not being arrogant is one of the 613 mitzvot.

What is inherently wrong with ga'avah? Ramban: Ga'avah, pride belongs to Hashem, not to mankind. The only way to be praised/elevated is through knowing God.
